Patricia has always prided herself on paying her bills on time, but, after relocating from Boston to Savannah, she experienced an unexpected and costly medical emergency.
“I was facing too many bills. When it came time to pay the rent, I just didn’t have the money. I explained my situation to my apartment manager, and that’s when she told me about Apartment Angel.” Patricia applied and received a one-month loan for her rent. She loves the idea of a loan as opposed to a handout.
“I think it’s a great idea because you get to replenish the funds to help other people just by paying back your loan. I’m happy to help pay it forward.”
Patricia is back on track today, but acknowledges that without the Apartment Angel loan she could have been in deep trouble. “My ultimate goal is to buy a home. If they saw I didn’t pay my rent on time, that would be a red flag,” she explained. “I don’t know what I would have done without that loan, things could have spiraled down to being evicted and possibly homeless.”
